Steven Davis

Steve is an Advisor & Principal of the New England Consulting Group and a key member of our restaurant, retail and consumer packaged goods practice teams. A versatile, growth-oriented chief executive, Steve brings over 30 years of leadership experience and tremendous business acumen scaling growth brands and creating shareholder value in some of Fortune’s most admired companies.

His career began at Kraft General Foods where he created marketing campaigns and product launches for nationally known brands such as Philadelphia Brand Cream Cheese, Cheez Whiz and Velveeta, and All American Gourmet, among others. From there, Steve was hired by YUM! Brands and promoted to a variety of leadership roles.  During his tenure as senior vice president of Pizza Hut, he introduced the WingStreet chain concept that has since grown to over 7500 restaurants worldwide. Then, as president and chief operating officer of Long John Silver’s and A&W All American Food Restaurants, he led multiple C-level executives and was responsible for over $2 billion in system sales.

Subsequently, for nearly a decade, he served as chairman and chief executive officer of Bob Evans Farms, an operator of over 500 family style restaurants in 18 states and a leading producer and distributor of refrigerated and frozen convenience food items.  While there, he developed and implemented a comprehensive repositioning growth strategy, including capital deployment, restructuring, and proactive asset management that ultimately doubled the stock price and significantly increased the company’s market cap.

A sought-after advisor and community advocate, Steve has served on the boards of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Sonic Corporation, Legacy Acquisition Corp., PPG Industries and CenturyLink. He currently sits on the corporate boards of Albertsons Companies, Marathon Petroleum Corporation and American Eagle Outfitters.

His awards and accolades are numerous, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, the Columbus Ohio NAACP Pioneer of Diversity Award, and an honorary doctorate from Rio Grande University. Black Enterprise Magazine named him one of the 75 Most Powerful Black Men in American Business.

Steve holds a Ba180chelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and a master’s degree in business administration, marketing and finance, from the University of Chicago.
