DEBRA B. MCMAHON


Debra is a Principal of the New England Consulting Group and a key member of our Telecommunications and Publishing practices.

Debra’s career spans over 25 years of experience in identifying market opportunities, creating businesses, building brands and crafting innovative marketing and sales strategies and plans that deliver profitable growth.

Prior to New England, Debra served as Vice President at Mercer Management Consulting. There she worked in a broad cross section of categories from consumer products and financial services, to communications, entertainment, transportation and retailing. At Mercer, Debra created multi-billion dollar growth strategies for consumer products companies including: Alcatel, AOL, Bertelsmann, Deutsche Telekom, Motorola, Philips, Sprint and Verizon, to name a few.

While serving as Principal and Partner at Strategic Planning Associates, Debra managed brand marketing and corporate strategy projects for clients including: Corning Metpath, Equitable Life, GE, Hanes and Sara Lee. By designing an innovative pricing model for Equitable Life products, Debra increased retail financial services’ profitability by 15%.

Prior to consulting, Debra was in brand management at General Mills and Wrigley, where she worked on Bisquick, Lucky Charms and Trix and a number of new products. Debra also spearheaded the development and introduction of the leading gum in the U.S., Wrigley’s Extra. She also worked on the Big Red and Wrigley’s Spearmint brands.

With a BA in Economics from Northwestern University, as well as a MBA in Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management, Debra completed her undergraduate and masters degrees in four years with highest distinction.
